Axxess AXTO-MI2 is a data interface specifically designed for select Mitsubishi vehicles from 2007 to 2013 equipped with factory Rockford Fosgate sound systems. When installing an aftermarket car stereo in these vehicles, the AXTO-MI2 helps retain several functionalities and simplifies the installation process. The AXTO-MI2 allows you to keep using your factory Rockford Fosgate amplifier and speaker system even after installing a new aftermarket car stereo. This feature ensures your aftermarket stereo receives low-level power for a short duration even after turning off the ignition, allowing features like clock or preset memory to retain their settings. The AXTO-MI2 provides data outputs for parking brake, reverse gear, and vehicle speed sensor (VSS). These signals can be beneficial for some aftermarket navigation systems with features like automatic muting or switching to the backup camera image. In some Mitsubishi Rockford Fosgate systems, replacing the head unit might cause a "COM error" message on the display. The AXTO-MI2 helps eliminate this error message. Allows you to fine-tune the input signal level from your car to match the requirements of your aftermarket amplifier for optimal sound quality. This is particularly useful for balancing the output level between the front and rear speakers. The AXTO-MI2 might have a Micro-B USB port for firmware updates if needed. The AXTO-MI2 harness might be pre-wired for connecting to the steering wheel control wires in your vehicle.
