Best bet for installation is to drop the fuel tank. I dropped mine just enough to be able to get my hands between the tank and the bumper. The bolts come from underneath the back of the jeep and screw in facing the rear of the jeep. Very tight space and extremely difficult if you don't have the tank out of the way.
Awesome bumper and great towing capacity.

Installed this on my '89 YJ. Had already installed the matching front bumper and was impressed with it, so I ordered this rear. This is a very nice bumper and heavy. All the holes lined up correctly, but it is best to enlarge every hole a little bit on the Jeep mount tube. Could make it some easier lining up for ya. The 4 inner bolts are difficult to get to and install with the fuel tank. I did not drop mine, and especially the 2 inner bolts on the drivers side were terrible. Patience needed for sure. But nice when you finish.
